Cabio 3 y/o Paint Gelding For Sale

We have decided to put Cabio up for sale.  He was going to be my daughter's horse but the mare had a red roan paint colt last year that she wants to keep instead.

Cabio had extensive ground work last year consisting of lunging, desensitizing, sacking out, yielding both front and hindquarters when asked, saddling, flexing, & ponying.  We did everything with him except ground drive and ride him.

I just brought him in off pasture on Saturday (3/27/11) and his training will be continued this week.
He is a really nice colt and will make a prospect for whatever you want to do with him.  He's right at 15hh, with a nice hip.  He's smart, intuitive and has been easy to train.
Asking $750.00

Our last 2 boys

Well, out of our litter of 9 we only have 2 boys left.  They are 12 weeks old now and are really needing to go to new homes before they get much older.

We have Tuxie and PJ left.

PJ is a black & white with a cape and a half tail.  He is full of energy and is a very lovable pup.

Pretty boy

Happy puppy

Tuxie is a tri colored pup, having black, white, and brown.  He has a cape and a full length dipstick tail.  Tux is quieter than PJ and not always in such a hurry.  He's content to sit still more than PJ is.

My son is 13.. Tuxie's a big puppy!
Nice and relaxed

Puppy Updates

Well, the puppies are officially ready to go to their new homes now.  Booger and Violet have sold, and Lizzy is staying here with me, so we have 5 available.  I've had some interest in a few of them, but nothing set in stone yet so they are still available.

I've dropped the price down to $150.  This in no way reflects the quality of the pups, but rather the fact that they are needing to go!  :)  8 puppies is a handful!

We are located in Harlowton and we are very flexible with the pick-up dates. We  are also able to deliver puppies to the Butte area over the Thanksgiving weekend.  My family is from there and it would be no trouble at all to work something out to save you some travel miles. :)

Pictures and puppy descriptions are below.. please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions at all!  406-350-3298 or email me at mtmom77@yahoo.com

Puppies!!!!!

Well, the puppies officially turned 4 weeks old this past Friday, and will ready for their new homes between 6 and 7 weeks.  They're already eating solid food along with Mom's milk and they are quite literally growing like weeds!
They get so big so fast!

They will all make fantastic stock dogs, as their mother (Katie Jo) is awesome and their father had a great herding instinct as well.   Katie Jo's past litters have produced outstanding cattle dogs.

I prefer these pups to go to ranch or country homes, and they will have first preference.  Pups are $200 each and will come with first shots.  A $100 deposit is required to reserve your puppy till weaning.  They will be ready to go the week between Nov 5th and Nov 11th.

There are 8 total, 4 boys and 4 girls.  We're going to start with the little girls first.

Panda Bear

Our first little girl is Panda Bear.  She is perfectly marked with a full cape, a white face that extends down to her chest, and 4 white feet.  She has a 3/4 length tail.
Panda is the biggest pup in the bunch, although I think a lot of her size comes from her coat.  She is a fluffy girl!
She is playful, of course, but is more of a quiet type puppy.

Peanut

Our second little girl is Peanut.  She is unusually marked, having a full cape that extends up over to the top of her head.  She's got a white muzzle, a large white chest, 4 high white stocking feet, a full length dipstick tail, and a lone white spot on her high right hip.  She's also got some small patches of brown or red on her face.
She thinks she is ferocious, always playing rough with her litter mates and making the tough puppy growl noises.  She's not much for cuddling, but is a busy girl.

Lizzy Lou

Lizzy Lou is our next little girl.  She is the smallest girl in the bunch and such a snuggle-bug.  This pup reminds me so much of her mother that it's scary.
This little girl is not for sale and will be staying here with me. :)

Violet

Violet
Violet is our last little girl.  Instead of a full cape, she has 2 white dots on her neck.  She has a white face, white chest, 4 white feet, and a 1/2 tail.
This little girl is a smart puppy.  She reminds me a lot of her mother also. She is both playful and cuddly and she "watches" you.  You can just see the intelligence in her.  She's going to be a wonderful working dog.

Ok, now on to our mischievious little boys...

Booger

Booger
Booger is Brad's favorite pup.  He's got it all.. he's playful, smart, handsome, and a huge cuddle-bug.  He's got the classic border collie coloring with a full cape, white face that goes down his neck to his chest, 4 white feet, and a full dipstick tail.
Brad is undecided as to whether he wants to keep this pup or not.  This litter's father was Brad's dog and was killed 2 weeks before they were born.  He's not sure if he's ready for a pup yet so he told me to offer him for sale and we'll see what happens.
Booze

Booze

Our little Boozer earned his name because he's always on his back wanting you to scratch his belly.  He used to just sleep that way when he was really small and he still does occasionally.
He is a very smart pup also and is always on the go.  He is a handsome fella and will make someone a great little dog.

Weasel

Weasel

Our little Weasel is a rambunctious little fellow.  He's always into something, wandering off and getting lost, or beating up his brothers and sisters.  This pup seems to really like people and loves to be scratched and have his belly rubbed.

He is very smart, naturally curious, and will make an outstanding working dog for sure.

Tuxie

Tuxie

Tuxie is a very, very handsome pup.  He has spots of red or brown on his face and upper legs.  He was the first pup to wander out of the nest.  He's always exploring and into things wondering what everything is.  He loves to play, both with people and his litter mates.

It's been a busy week!

Wow what a week!  We got both the ponies sold and also Bells was confirmed sold this morning.  I still have her with me until her new owner can come pick her up, but she's sold.
Training-wise, I put Bells and Bio out on the pasture for a week or so to stretch their legs.  I brought Whiskey in and started working with him again.  He wouldn't trot out for me that first day I rode him, so we spent a half hour in the round pen just trotting after we got back home.  I was riding him out to meet the kids halfway when they chose to ride home after moving cows.  I didn't have so much fun.. he was just a pain to ride.  We're going back to the basics and starting over.
Yesterday we did lots of LFR and then I saddled him up.  Do you think I could get him to lope in the roundpen without a line on him?  Nope.. lazy as he could be.  I lit a fire under his tail and got him to at least break into a lope for a few strides.  I was not impressed.  He's very rude and has an "I don't have to" attitude.  Once I get him moving out better I'm riding him to town.  We also did lots and lots of flexing.  He was very stiff but got better.  Lots of desensitizing too.. he's a spooking thing still.
Brad climbing all over Dodge

Inky was a basket case too yesterday.  With him I just did lots and lots and lots of desensitizing.  Going to have to keep that up.  He's just a wild thing.  He settles down considerably by the time we're through, but never "really" gives in.  Consistency and persistence.  We also worked on turning on the forequarters which he's fantastic at.  Just a light touch by his eye and he will cross over in front.

Today I've only worked Dodge so far, but he's such a good boy.  Brad jumped all over him and then I saddled him for the first time.  I thought for sure he was gonna come apart, but no.  Not a hump, not a spook, not anything.  He just trotted off like he'd been carrying that saddle his whole life.
Trotted off cool as a cumcumber
He thinks he needs a nap now.. lol
I left him to soak and will unsaddle him later tonight.  We also worked on YHQ (he's really sticky on his right side), and a little yielding his forequarters.  He will also cross over in front with just the lightest touch by his eye.

Video is up!

The video for MJ is finally up.. sorry all for the delay!  Pics from last night are below also.   Click here to see the video of MJ and the kids

MJ the pony videos and more pics :)

Hello everyone,

I've had a lot of requests for more photos and a video of MJ so the kids and I went out tonight and got some for you.
Silly kids lol

We should also mention here that we found out tonight that she is buddy sour.  She would not walk out for the kids when she was pointed away from her pony friend but would walk out fine headed back to her friend.  I gave the kids an over and under of sorts and they spanked her when needed (they usually just had to do it once) and she moved off fine.  She didn't spook when spanked at all.. just sort of meandered off.  You will notice in the first few videos that she doesn't want to move, but after we figured out what was going on we took care of it and she did fine.

Race to see who can get on first
I just wanted everyone to be aware of this.  We didn't notice it before because her friend always came with us when she was ridden.  So anyway.. here are the pics and the videos.
Thank you for your interest in MJ!  :)
